67km covered for Mandela Day
"We must have a Mandela Day every day, not just for 67 minutes but for 24 hours.”
Supporters of Yellow For Survivors embarked on a 67km walk at the crack of dawn on Sunday, July 18. The walk was part of the organisation’s Mandela Day efforts to raise funds for Baby Moses, Matla A Bana and Cross Connect.
Participants walked 10 laps of 6,7 kilometres each around the Little Falls area and ended at Super Spar Retail Crossing. Founder of Yellow for Survivors, Leilani Kuter said the walk was their way to give back to survivors of gender-based violence and remind them that they were not alone. “Mandela Day is all about love, community, and bringing people together. We must have a Mandela Day every day, not just for 67 minutes but for 24 hours.”
